Helena Area Youth Hockey Association Programs

HAYHA has hockey programs for Helena boys and girls of every age and skill level.  Players can learn to skate and play hockey as young as four years old (must turn four by December 31) and play through age 18 in the following programs.

  • U8 recreational program for 4 – 8 year olds.
  • House recreational program for 9 – 18 year olds.
  • U10 competitive travel program for 9 and 10 year olds.
  • U12 competitive travel program for 11 and 12 year olds.
  • U14 competitive travel program for 13 and 14 year olds.
  • High School competitive travel program for enrolled high school students.

HAYHA is committed to providing young people the opportunity to have fun learning the skills of skating and the game of hockey while affording them a safe and fun environment to achieve their highest level of play. As a team sport, hockey affirms the importance of commitment, self-discipline, and sportsmanship among participants. The Helena Area Youth Hockey Association is committed to ensuring that all young people who participate in the Youth Hockey Program will develop skills and values which will have lifelong benefit to them and to society, including:

  • development of the skills necessary to play ice hockey
  • knowledge of the rules and strategies of the game
  • knowledge of conditioning techniques that affect short and long term health and performance
  • enjoyment and recreation
  • commitment to teamwork
  • good sportsmanship
