With temperatures in the 90’s it’s hard for some of us to be thinking about ice hockey, but it’s not too early to start planning for the Helena Area Youth Hockey Association (HAYHA) 2021-2022 season. Registration is open and the arena expects to have ice by early September, with first practices coming in the second week of October.
Both the arena and HAYHA currently intend to move ahead without last-year’s COVID restrictions, but will obviously follow any future modifications required to stay in compliance with County health policies. We demonstrated last season that when we all pull together, we can have fun and successful hockey under the most trying circumstances. Let’s build on that and make 2021-2022 the best season yet......Read More..
HAYHA has hockey programs for Helena boys and girls of every age and skill level. Players can learn to skate and play hockey as young as four years old (must turn four by December 31) and play through age 18 in the following programs.
Thank you to the Helena Bighorns and Blue Cross Blue Shield for donating $2,400 to Helena Area Youth Hockey!
2020/2021 Goalie Development Group
Another year of developing HAYHA goalies is in the books with the final practice coming Wednesday morning, February 24th. This group has practiced every other Wednesday, starting in October, at 6:00 am. There have been as many as 11 different goalies in this group this year including Bighorn goalie Kaden Biagi, 12U goalies: Noah Flynn, Dean Peterson, Joey Fraser, Benjamin Wilson, 10U goalie Stone James, and 8U goalies: Fisher Briggs, Brayden Day, Bricean Strainer, Brayden Smith, and Drew Sammons. We would like to give a big shout out to all the coaches that made this a great success, and we look forward to more goalie development in the next year.
