House Program

The House program is a recreational program for 9 – 18 year olds.  Players do not need to know how to skate before starting, however, many participate in the Learn to Skate programs offered through Helena Figure Skating Club prior to or during the hockey season.  Players are divided into House 1 and House 2 dependent on age, skill and size.  All house players practice twice a week and have scheduled house games a couple times per month on the weekends.  There are also several optional travel tournaments or friendly games that players can register for at an additional cost.  Traditionally the House League hosts a House Tournament in March at the Helena Ice Arena.

The season is split into two sessions.  The first session runs mid-October through mid-December.  The second session runs January through mid-March.  Players are required to sign up for both but have the option to drop out of the second session should they choose to do so in December.  Players who choose to drop out of second session by the given deadline will be refunded their second session fee.  Also, players who would rather wait and start in January, can sign up for second session in December.  Parents volunteer as coaches, team managers, locker room monitors, penalty box chaperones, time clock and scorekeepers.
